Knights Sweep Weekend 3-0!

The Rice Memorial Prep hockey team entered the weekend with a 4-4-1 record and were looking to try to elevate their play before they head into the first weekend of MPHL league play. The Knights finished the weekend with 3 Wins, pushing their winning streak to 4 games after a weekend split with Le Sommet Academy the previous weekend.  The Knights have benefited from a balanced attack up and down the lineup. The team was also eager to play in front of a home crowd that featured parents and many Rice students.

On Friday night, the Knights played strong throughout the game and had very strong goaltending from net minder Chris Foley. The Knights opened the weekend up with a 3-1 victory vs. the East Coast Spartans U18 with a pair of goals from Eetu Maki-Soini.

The following night the team prepared to battle with Northwood School, and 3 periods and overtime was not enough to claim a winner so the game ended up being decided in a shootout with goals from Bryson Martin and a nifty little move by Matiss Petrovics to help the Knights earn the win in a shootout. On Sunday, the Knights earned a 4-2 victory over Northwood finishing the weekend with 3 wins.DSC_8445
