Girls Prep goes 2-2 at the Boston Shamrocks Showcase

11223873_10207291385299384_832210812643725849_oRice lost the first game 3-1 in a close match against NAHA. Kyra Yu had the lone goal on a short handed breakaway in the 2nd and NAHA scored again with about 2 minutes left to close out the game.

Rice then went on to beat the Boston Shamrocks 5-1 with goals from Sophie Loughran, Jillian Gibbs, Maxi Moran-Bird and 2 from Kaley Campbell. Kiely Smiga-McManus was in net.

In a very fast paced and one of the best games of the year for the Knights, Rice beat the California Waves 3-2 with goals from Shannon Nadeau and 2 from Kyra Yu. Whitney Padgett was in the net and had 29 saves.

The last game of the weekend and the 3rd game in 16 hours the girls lost 7-3, the score wasn’t an indicator of the game as HTI had one very good forward that didn’t make a mistake as she scored 5 of their goals. Goals from Rice game from Shannon Nadeau, Kyra Yu and Mikayla Butkus. Shots were 41-40.

Up next for the Knights they will compete in their league championships in Buffalo, NY February 26-28th at the Harbor Center.
